Libby Dyer has enjoyed an impressive career as a long-time track and field athlete dating back to the early 1980s. In 1980, Libby attended the Royal Canadian Legion Track and Field Meet in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she competed in the shot put and discus throw, earning a fourth-place finish in the latter.

The following year, 1981, she competed in the highly competitive Canada Summer Games in the discus throw and shot put. She returned to the Canada Summer Games in 1985, finishing in the final group of eight in the discus throw.

Again, in 1981, she captured a bronze medal in the discus throw at the Eastern Canadian Championships.

Libby was a 5-time Atlantic champion in the discus throw from 1980 – 1985. In 1982, in Atlantic University Athletic Association (AUAA) competition, she finished in the number one position in the shot put, then in 1984 she won a bronze medal in the discus throw in Montreal.

In Provincial Athletics competitions, Libby has been the Provincial record holder in the discus throw in the midget category, the juvenile category, as well as the junior and the senior divisions from 1979 to 1986.

She has competed in multiple Provincial and Atlantic championships in the discus throw and currently holds all provincial records in the province.

Not only was Libby a gifted field athlete, she was also a very competitive runner placing in the top ten in the female division in several historic Tely 10 Road Races.
