The Legion Championships also serves as a selection meet for the 2013 Legion Provincial Track and Field Team. Any athlete interested in trying out for the Provincial Legion Team must submit team application form before the end of the Legion Championships on Saturday, July 6. Please follow this link for more information.


Eligibility - 2013 Track and Field Members only

The Provincial Legion Track and Field Championships is open to 2013 Track and Field registered members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association (NLAA). Non-members, Day Permit holders and non-track and field members will not be able to register for the meet. Annual track and field membership fee is $40.00. Non-members wishing to become members must register online OR submit their application and fee to the NLAA office during regular business hours 9 to 4 by Thursday, July 4, 2013.


Competition Venue
The 2013 Provincial Legion Championships is to be held at Pearlgate Track and Field Complex in Mount Pearl. The track, in an eight (8) lane, and runways surface is Poly-urethane. Concrete discus, shot put and hammer circles with regulation cages for discus and hammer are provided.
Eligibility for the PROVINCIAL LEGION TEAM
All athletes applying for the 2013 Provincial Legion Team must be NLAA 2013 Track and Field ($40) registered members PRIOR TO the start of competition in order to have their results count toward selection of the Provincial Team representing Newfoundland and Labrador Command at the Legion National Track & Field Championships.

Numbers
All competitors will be supplied with a competitive number. The number must not be cut, folded or obscured in any way. Numbers for all events must be displayed on the front.
Track and Field Pins
  • Not to exceed 11 per shoe
  • Track - maximum 7 mm.
  • Runways - maximum 9 mm.
  • Needles and cone only; no trees shape spikes will be allowed

Categories for Boys and Girls
  • Youth - ages 17 and under as of December 31, 2013 (born in 1996 or 1997)
  • Midget - ages 15 and under as of December 31, 2013 (born in 1998 through 2000 for Legion Team consideration)

TECHNICAL NOTES
Scheduled times and order of events may change pending registration. All athletes are asked to be at Pearlgate Complex at least 60 minutes prior to their scheduled event.
Midget age athletes cannot move up to compete in the Youth category.
