Competition Venue

The 2009 Provincial Legion Championships is to be held at Pearlgate Track and Field Complex in Mount Pearl. The track (in an eight (8) lane) and runways surface is Poly-urethane. Concrete discus, shot put and hammer circles with regulation cages for discus and hammer are provided.

Eligibility for the Provincial Legion Track and Field Championships

Participation at the 2009 Provincial Legion Championships is open to 2009 Track and Field Members or One Day Permit holders ($5) of the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association (NLAA). Athletes not yet registered for 2009 can obtain NLAA memberships at meet registration desk. Annual NLAA Track and Field membership is $40.00. One-day Event Permit is $5.00. Eligibility for the PROVINCIAL LEGION TEAM

All athletes applying for the 2009 Provincial Legion Team must be NLAA 2009 Track and Field ($40) registered members PRIOR TO the start of competition in order to have their results count toward selection of the Provincial Team representing Newfoundland and Labrador Command at the Legion National Track & Field Championships.

Numbers

All competitors will be supplied with a competitive number. The number must not be cut, folded or obscured in any way. Numbers for all events must be displayed on the front.

Track and Field Pins

• Not to exceed 11 per shoe
• Track - maximum 7 mm.
• Runways - maximum 9 mm.
• Needles and cone only; no trees shape spikes will be allowed

Categories for Boys and Girls

• Midget - ages 15 and under as of December 31, 2010 (born in 1995 through 1998)
• Juvenile - ages 17 and under as of December 31, 2010 (born in 1993 or 1994)

TECHNICAL NOTES

Scheduled times and order of events may change pending registration. All athletes are asked to be at Pearlgate Complex at least 60 minutes prior to their scheduled event.

Please note that an athlete may compete in one age group only. Exception to this rule will be applied when the desired event is not offered in the athlete´s age group and he/she has to compete in a higher category.
