Selection Meet Information
- Conditions to take part at the Canada Games Team Selection Meet, July 10-12:
- all participants must be 2009 Track and Field Members as of 12:00 noon on July 3.
- must have completed the mandatory online Canada Games registration and have completed the CCES Anti-Doping Online Program
- Must have achieved MEET ENTRY STANDARDS prior to July 10.
- Register online before 12:00 noon, Friday, July 3, 2009 Athletes must include seed performance when registering for the trials .
- Submit meet registration payment. Payment may be sent via mail or dropped off at the NLAA office. Meet registration payment must be received before the first day of the Trials - Friday, July 10, 2009. Registration fee: 1st event $5.00; each additional event: $3.00 (per event)
Method of Payment:
Cash, cheque or money order. If paying cash, you must bring exact amount as any change will be kept as DONATION for the Canada Games Team.
Refund Policy: All fees are Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable.
Athletes with "A" standard in an event may be selected to the team without competing in that event at the trials. All other athletes must compete at the trials in the event(s) for which they wish to be selected. No athlete will be selected for any event who has not achieved the minimum selection standard for that event. Relay teams will be comprised only of athletes who compete at the trials and who have achieved standard in the prescribed individual event as detailed in the published selection criteria.
It is the athlete´s responsibility to be fully aware of the detailed selection criteria.
- Final Confirmation:
All athletes must declare/confirm their event participation by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9. I will provide updated start list on the NLAA web site by Thursday evening.
- Additions:
No change of events/new events will be allowed past the above deadline.
- Scratches. Scratches must be made by:
10:00 a.m. Friday (morning), July 10 for events held on Friday
8:00 p.m. Friday (evening), July 10 for events held on Saturday and Sunday
8:00 p.m. Saturday (evening), July 11 for events held on Sunday
Scratches must be submitted in-person on competition site to George Stanoev, by the appropriate deadline.
- Failure to Participate:
Athletes failing to participate in an event will be excluded from participation in all further events in the competition.
- "Second Chance Meet":
A second chance meet may be held within a week following the trials (most likely on Wednesday evening). Should the NLAA decides to the offer a Second Chance meet, the date and time of the meet will be decided and announced on Monday July 13.
- The "Second Chance Meet" meet will be held in accordance with the NLAA Canada Games selection criteria with the following clarification:
With the exception of the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays, only athletes that have competed at the Trials in the offered event will be eligible to enter.
