NLAA Permanent Registration ID:
Beginning in 2010, the NLAA will issue a single, unique, registration ID for each member. This unique ID will be retained from year to year as members change clubs, Athletics Canada branches, or membership status.
Registered members only:
Only performances from REGISTERED members of the current year will be accepted for rankings, team selection or records. There will be no retroactive acceptance of performances. An athlete must hold a current Athletics Canada/Branch competitive Membership at the time the performance is achieved.
All registration is handled through the provincial office. The NLAA membership is valid for one calendar year from January 1 to December 31. You should inform the NLAA office if any information submitted on the membership form changes during the year. Example: mailing address, contact information, club affiliation or personal coach.

Throughout the school year the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association hosts and sanctions numerous cross country, track and field and road running events. To compete at these events each participant must be a registered member of the NLAA. To promote our sport at the school level and to make it more accessible to students the NLAA conducts some of its events for schools exclusively and school grades are used to determine the age categories. We allow for students and schools to participate at these events by registering with the NLAA at a nominal membership fee. These fees are as follow:
Membership/School Affiliation in the NLAA allows an athlete to compete in our sanctioned events. Every sport organization pays insurance as a corporate body on behalf of event organizers in case of legal liability or mishaps. Without insurance individuals would run the risk of unnecessary and very costly personal involvement in legal suits. Sanction and membership fees help to cover these costs and ensure that people will be willing to volunteer their time.
There are opportunities to benefit from courses and clinics - as an athlete, official, or a coach. The NLAA also supervises events in order to insure that rules are followed and criteria maintained on an even basis throughout the province. Making provincial and national teams is also possible with full NLAA membership. The NLAA also supervises Provincial Events - Road Running and Track points competitions, and all Road, Track, and Cross-Country Championships.
