Competition Venue
The NLAA Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet is to be held at the Memorial University Field House in St. John´s. The facility has a six (6) lane 200m oval and eight (8) lane sprint straight track. Change room facilities and showers are available - bring own lock and towel.
Entering the Field House
Spectators, parents, coaches and non-competing athletes are asked to use the ticket office entrance of the Field House to enter the building. They should then proceed to the upper level of the Field House to watch the competition.
Spectator/Viewing Area
All spectators, coaches and non-competing athletes should use the second floor of the field house to view the competition.
Meet Fee Structure
- 2010 NLAA Track and Field Members, OR, athletes representing schools affiliated with the NLAA for the 2009/2010 School Year.
- $10.00 per athlete
- $10.00 per athlete
- Schools not affiliated with the NLAA and non-NLAA Competitive Track and Field Members
- $11.00 per athlete ( $10.00 entry fee + $1.00 One Day Permit fee ) for Elementary - Junior - Senior High School
- $16.00 per athlete ( $10.00 entry fee + $5.00 One Day Permit Fee ) for participants in the Open Division
- Entries after the registration deadline - Entry requests after 11:59 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010, MAY be accepted at the discretion of the meet director and only if there is space. Entry Fee is $20 + applicable Day Permit Fee. PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYMENT MUST BE IN CASH OR CERTIFIED CHEQUE ONLY. Personal cheques and credit card payment will not be accepted.
Eligibility
- Any person, in good standing with the NLAA, of the designated categories below is eligible to enter the individual competition. Students enrolled in grade 4 but born in 2001 are permitted to compete as long as they provide proof of enrollment, signed by a school principal on a school letterhead. This letter must be submitted along with the meet registration form.
- An athlete must be:
- Registered Track and Field member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association (NLAA) for year 2010, with a $40.00 Annual Membership, or;
- purchase a One Day Permit. The One Day Permit Fee is $1.00 Elementary - Junior - Senior High School Students; and $5 for athletes competing in the Open Division.
- Schools that have affiliated with the NLAA for the 2009/2010 school year are eligible participate in this meet. Students of Affiliated Schools don´t pay the NLAA membership or One Day Permit fees.
- Schools wishing to affiliate with the NLAA must fill out a School Affiliation Form (PDF format) and mail or bring it to the Provincial Office (before the meet registration deadline) - the affiliation fee is $20.

- Please note:
- High Jump:
- Starting height for high jump will be 1.15m for girls and 1.25m for boys. The increment of raising the bar will be 5cm.
- The use of spikes is not permitted in the high jump competition.
- A participant may compete in up to two (2) individual events plus a relay.
- Relay Teams and athletes´ order must be declared at the time of online registration. Coaches must enter all four athletes during the online registration.
- In the Standing Long Jump each competitor is allowed three (3) trials.
- No qualifying rounds will be held in any event.
- Event Order: Events that start at the same time will be run as follows:
Junior -> Senior - > Open

Awards
Team scores will be kept but no team awards will be presented in the Open and Senior High School categories. Team banners will be presented in the Elementary and Junior HS competition to each of the top girls and boys teams in each division. Individual awards will be presented immediately following the completion of each individual event. The top three (3) finishers in each individual and relay event will receive medals. Ribbons will be awarded to the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place finishers.
Team Competition - Scoring
There is no limit to the number of athletes or relay teams a school/club can enter in an event.
Individual Events: The top 2 finishers per school/club will score.
Relays: Only one (1) team per school/club will score.
